|Welcome to Surreal-Landscapes! |
This is a group for DA artists obsessed with creating incredible surreal landscapes! Surreal-Landscapes will feature works that are at first glance stunning, and upon closer inspection technically flawless. These artworks can be of this world, or of worlds they will help us imagine.
Submissions -- 1 per week
All visual mediums -- digital, traditional, photography, film, etc. -- will be welcome here.
What is a surreal landscape work?
At the very minimum these works must have some aspect that makes them at least a little dreamlike or bizarre/different from a typical work. Browse through the Featured folders to get an idea of the kinds of artworks we are looking for. Remember: Just because it is a beautiful landscape work doesn't necessarily make it a surreal landscape work.
Please, no works with distracting copyright logos
As of November, 2010 the group will no longer accept works that have the DA logo, or any other type of copyright notice, in a place that diminishes the overall beauty of the work, or the viewing experience. There are other ways to protect a work, to insure it will not be used illegally, than to add the DA logo to it in a way that takes away from the work.
Please submit works to the correct folder
Any folder that says "Full" has no more room in it for artworks. Artworks that are submitted to a "Full" folder will automatically be rejected. (If it is an exceptional surreal landscape work I may contact you and ask you to resubmit.) Works in either of the Featured folders is by invitation only. From time to time I will look through the various other Surreal Landscapes galleries and move exceptional works into one of the Featured folders. The Featured folders will also include works that I have seen on DA and invited to submit.
The Favorites Gallery's Featured Section will be a "free-for-all" space and will include works that members or staff have come across and want to share; these do not necessarily have to be surreal landscape works. However, they should be works that hopefully will inspire us in some way to do great surreal landscape works, ha ha! In other words, if you see a work on DA and you think it is cool please share it here with your fellow members! It can also be your own non-surreal landscape work.
